A pair of armchairs made in Stockholm during the transition from the Rococo to the Gustavian period, circa 1770–1790.
Carved wood with floral chip-carved decoration, crest rails and fluted legs characteristic of the Gustavian style.
The unusually generous shield-shaped seats were later upholstered in patinated black leather.
Made to palace-quality standards.
