A large armchair made during the Louie XVI period 1780-1800 in France. Frame in a beautiful distressed paint . Upholstered in a dark brown leather.

Signed By Claude Chevigny Paris. He produced carved, painted and gilded beds and seat furniture and upholstery work for the French royals, in the Neoclassical style that is associated with Louis XVI. His furniture can be found in the collections at The Metropolitan in New York and Le Louvre in Paris.
